Aile Asszonyi

The estonian-hungarian soprano Aile Asszonyi finished her Master

studies at the Estonian Music and Theatre Academy in 2002. She

continued her studies at the Netherlands Opera Studio (OSN). She is in

the ensemble of the Estonian National Opera since 2010. Her work has

been acnowledged with interpretation award of Estonian Music Council

2007, she was awarded Estonian Theatre annual award in 2010 and 2012

and she won SEB Audience award 2012.

Her operatic roles include Armida (Haydn’s Armida), Despina and

Fiordiligi, Donna Anna and Donna Elvira (Mozart’s Così fan tutte and

Don Giovanni), Leonora (Beethoven’s Fidelio), Adina, Maria

(Donizetti’s L’elisire d’amore and Maria Stuarda), Violetta, Giovanna,

Amelia (Verdi’s La traviata, Giovanna d’Arco and Un ballo in

maschera), Margueritte (Gounod Faust), Angelica, Mimi, Manon

(Puccini’s Suor Angelica, La bohème, Manon Lescaut), Rosalinde

(Strauss’ Die Fledermaus), Miss Jessel (Britten’s Turn of the screw),

Zora and Mina (Žebeljan Zora D, world première), Woman (Tüür’s

Wallenberg).

Her repertoire includes soprano parts in Bach St Matthew Passion ja

St John Passion, Händel Messiah and La resurrezione, Haydni Creation,

Mozart Requiem, C-minor Mass and Exsultate Jubilate, Beethoven Mass in

C ja IX Symphony, Brahms German Requiem, Verdi Messa da Requiem,

Mendelssohn Paulus, Britten Les illuminations etc.
